What Is A Tankless Water Heater?
Simply put, Tankless Water Heaters heat water
directly without the use of a storage tank. Therefore, they avoid the
standby heat losses associated with storage water heaters. When a hot
water tap is turned on, cold water travels through a pipe into the unit.
The unit quickly heats the water and sends it to the tap that is calling
for the water. This action happens in a matter of seconds.
Also called Instantaneous or Demand Water Heaters,
provide hot water only as it is needed. Traditional storage water heaters
produce standby energy losses that cost you money. Generally people do not
heat their homes while vacationing or turn the heat way down. We only heat
our homes when there is a demand for heat. In the same way, a Tankless
Water Heater is used only when there is a demand for hot water and ONLY
when there is a demand. This way, you do not spend money heating and
reheating water over and over again while you are away at work, school,
shopping, etc. You save money on energy as well as space since you do not
have to have a holding tank for the water.
